Hello Everyone! Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I've decided to participate in The Greater Manchester Run 2009 to help raise money for a charity close to my heart - Manchester Aid to Kosovo. I recently returned from the country after spending a week out there with my band The Travelling Band playing a dedication event to mark the 10 year anniversary of a massacre in the town of Podejevo. The town is very poor and MaK has been working tirelessly there over the last few years to build a Peace Park designed by the Eden Project for the local community to use to help rebuild there lives. Part of the future plan includes building a football pitch for the young people.
MAK supports recovery in Kosovo through aid, recreation, sport and artistic projects.
MAK is creating the 22 acre Manchester Peace Park in Kosovo to resource the whole community. All MAK projects involve collaboration between the UK and Kosovo. Medically evacuated Kosovars in the UK are actively involved in all MAK projects.
