Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page.

I've set myself the challenge of cycling a leg of the Tour de France, known as the Etape, in memory of my brother Karl for the charity CALM on the 11th of July.

The stage is the same as one of the Alpine stages the professional riders will be competing on during this years tour and is 109km (68 miles) long with a total vertical ascent of approximately 3,500 metres (11,483 feet).

To put those numbers into perspective that is roughly the equivalent of stacking 14 Canary Wharf towers on top of one another and then cycling from Dover to the top of summit of the towers.

I'm understandibly anxious, but have been training hard and am confident I'll be able to finish in the time limit imposed by the organisers!

CALM was set up in response to the high suicide rate among young men, currently the biggest killer of men under the age of 35.

You can find out more about CALM by going to:
http://www.thecalmzone.net/about/

So please dig deep and donate. If you're any good at pushing you're also welcome to help me up some of the mountains in France.
