Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I will be running the Brussels 20k this year, along with some other friends, with the aim of raising sponsorship for Myeloma UK.
This is because a dear friend was diagnosed with this rare form of blood cancer two years ago. At the time, she was living life to the full, as usual, in her early thirties, so the diagnosis came as a real shock. She has been through a lot since then, including many cycles of chemotherapy, and a lot of time in hospital.
This is a very worthwhile charity who concentrate solely on just this type of cancer, for which relatively little fund-raising take place, since it affects relatively few people. Myeloma UK plays a big role in all of the lobbying for UK drugs approval, also in directly funding research and in helping myeloma patients with information, including our friend. She says she would have been utterly lost without them. It is a very complex disease and affects everyone so differently.
Finally, any of you who know this friend, she would like to maintain her anonymity so grateful if you could avoid writing their name in any comments you leave with your donation. Thanks again.
