It was a task enough in itself: hike nearly 200 miles on Wainwright's classic route from the coast of Cumbria to the shore at Robin Hood's Bay in North Yorkshire in the space of just 10 days.
An added complication is that I have tunnel vision due to an incurable eye disease that means I trip over things in the house let alone rocky high-level Lake District paths.
But what made it a true challenge is that retinitis pigmentosa has already robbed several of my fellow trekkers of almost all their sight.
Research into a cure is coming on in leaps and bounds at the moment but maintaining that progress needs cash, which is where you come in.
