Brighton Marathon 2012 · 15 April 2012 ·

We are a world-leading charity at the forefront of Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS). We are an independent charity. It costs over £15.2M a year to sustain our world-leading, cutting edge, innovative service and amazingly 86% comes from the incredible generosity of our supporters.

Story

Joel Allan Eager, our dearly loved cousin & close friend, was involved in a tragic boating accident in July 2011, at the tender age of 21. In recognition of the sterling efforts made by the Sussex Air Ambulance (who airlifted Joel directly to Kings college Hospital, London), and despite none of us having run a marathon before, we wish to honour his cherished memory and attest to the exemplary care he received. The reckless extravagance of running a marathon is entirely appropriate for Joel’s memory, who had a voracious appetite for life and embraced all it could offer. May we thank you for your generous support of the Sussex Air Ambulance and the crucial, invaluable service they provide.
