This year at very short notice I have been offered a charity place from Woking and Sam Beare Hospices to enter The Virgin London Marathon. The marathon takes place this April so not much time to train or fund raise the £2000 sponsorship money! The reason for taking on such a grueling physical and mental challenge within such a limited time frame is because of the fantastic work the hospice does for the patients and their families. Last year Richard’s aunt sadly passed away, she spent her last few weeks in a hospice, during this time she was extremely well cared for by all the staff. So we have seen what a superb job hospices do, due to this and because Woking hospice is in great need of all finances to remain open I am very passionate about helping to raise money for them, even if I have to stagger over the finish line in April! I won’t be aiming for any personal bests, the goal is to complete the race and help ensure the financial stability of the hospice to guarantee that they don’t close down, if you could all dig deep into your pockets and sponsor me for the race that would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks and thank you to everyone who has already contributed :-)
