Flora London Marathon 2009 · 26 April 2009 ·

St Peter & St James Hospice helps people live well to the end, offering compassionate, FREE care for patients and families at home and in our hospice. It costs £7m each year, with little government funding—so every donation helps ensure no one faces end of life alone.

Story

Hi All,

As you may already know, my fiancee Kate Martin passed away in March 2008 after a battle with skin cancer. She was well looked after throughout her illness by the fantastic people at St Peter and St James Hospice in Sussex.

Kate was the love of my life, and one stupendous lady. Kind, caring, funny, and never without a smile on her face, the world is a poorer place without her in it.

My challenge is to run the 2009 London Marathon, and raise money for the hospice which was so good to her. It's a charity which requires £3,300 a day, just to stay open. It really is a great cause, and your donations will be well-received.

I hope to accomplish two aims from this, firstly - to raise as much money as possible with your help, and secondly - to pay tribute to my beloved Kate, who I miss each and every day.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor me: St Peter and St James Hospice gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!
