Story
Dear all,
Between the 12th & 15th July 2008 I am cycling from London to Paris to raise money for Medecins du Monde. I have to raise a minimum of £1000 for i) the dubious pleasure of being unable to sit down properly for a week afterwards and ii) for cultivating a rest-of-life hatred of bikes.
It'll be 292km over 3 days (that's an average of 97.3km per day - just under 61 miles) with the final day spent sightseeing in Paris with the other 44 fools going on this journey with me before we take the easy route home on the Eurostar.
And now onto the boring (but important) stuff. Why Medecins du Monde? As a charity it does unbelievable work sending healthcare professionals to some of the poorest , hardest hit regions of the world. Not only does it respond to emergencies such as the earthquake in Pakistan in 2005 it also provides vital and ongoing development work in many regions of the world including HIV prevention projects in the Congo, post-Tsunami renovation of health centres in Sri Lanka and providing services to children working in mines in Bolivia.
Any support that you can give would be hugely appreciated.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Médecins du Monde UK will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
All donations of post-cycle butt massages also gladly appreciated! :o)
Jo xx
