Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My challenge is to cycle 927 miles in 9 days unaided from John O Groats to Lands End at Easter 2010. Then just a month later I am running the Edinburgh Marathon in May 2010 both in memory of my dad Bob.

Dad passed away in June 2006 only 9 months after being diagnosed with Motor Neurones Disease. It was Dad though who gave me so much support when I cycled Lands End to John O Groats in 1995 so it seems the obvious thing to challenge myself with again just the other way round.

In addition to this my only marathon the London Marathon 2006 was a very emotional experience as I knew it was probably the last activity Dad would be able to watch me have a go at.

It has taken a while for me to come to terms with the way dad died but now feel the time is right to do something and honour my dads life. Combining the JOGLE ride and Marathon seems an appropriate way of doing this.

Whilst Dad died from Motor Neurone Disease and I am raising funds for MND as well. Cancer seems to be a topic never too far from our minds.

With this in mind I would like to split the fund raising for my challenge between MND and Cancer Research.

With the kind permission of the Hillier family I will raise funds for Cancer Research in the name of Chrissy Hillier a long time member of Racquets Fitness Centre in Thame.

Any donation you can make will be greatly appreciated.

Thank-you very much.

Nigel Pattison
