About our charity : RAINBOW HOUSE RAINBOW HOUSE
Rainbow House helps children with physical disabilities between the age of 3 months - 16 years to become more active & independent through Conductive Education and Early Years services, aiming to achieve each childs goal in sitting, standing and walking and improve their social skills in eating, dressing and toileting, making integration into mainstream school and the community easier. Not only do we help children with disabilties such as Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome, Metabolic & other genetic motor disorders, we also provide support for their families & carers.

John O'Groats to Lands End Cycle Ride (27/7 - 9/8/08)

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor us online.

As men of middling years the need has clearly arisen for us to prove that we are still 'young of mind and body' and what better way to do this than to cycle a ridiculous amount of miles from one end of the country to the other, raising money for Rainbow House as we go. What started as a throwaway comment has evolved to bring us to this point.

We will be setting out on the 27th July from John O'Groats full of smiles and good humour and will arrive in Lands End on the 9th August hopefully with the smiles and good humour still intact. We will be averaging 85 miles per day (give or take) dependent upon the journey that day.The team will consist of Heath Arnfield (Cyclist), Chris Berry(Cyclist), Phil Melling (Cyclist) and Gary Hughes (Cyclist). The most important members of the team however are Ken Hughes and Bob Alliot who have kindly agreed to drive the support vehicle for us meaning all that we have to do is pedal - apparently a simple thing to do. We will be joined along the journey by friends who will be cycling different stages of the route with us but who sadly could not join us for the whole adventure; our thanks goes to them as well.

We must say a big thank you to Foresight Psychology Ltd and Foresight Clinical Services Ltd who have agreed to sponsor all our accomodation and associated costs. This means that all the money that is kindly donated by people such as yourself goes directly to Rainbow House to enable them to carry on the wonderful work that they do both with the children and also their families.
