Story

Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page.

It was a while ago when a suggestion was made that it would be possible to cycle from John O'Groats to Land's End in 4 days if it was done as a continuous relay. This idea seemed very plausible at the time (we were in the pub) and a few people sort of volunteered. In the cold light of day the volunteers dwindled and then recently Rob resurrected the idea (in the pub) and here we are.

Our challenge is to complete the ride in 4 days starting on Friday 1st June and finishing on Monday 4th June. The schedule we have planned works out at approximately 84 hours of cycling hence the team name. We are cycling in pairs at all times, in 4 hour stints and with 1 rider scheduled to change over every 2 hours. Each of the 4 cyclists will complete approximately 500 miles. We have managed to rope in a dedicated driver (Steve) who will provide invaluable support throughout the challenge.

It is only now that it is dawning on us just how tough this challenge will be both mentally and physically. As I first write this we are just over 17 weeks away from the start and training is fast becoming a priority.

Our lives have all been affected by cancer in one way or another so we have decided that we would like to give any donations received to Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan Cancer Support do a tremendous job in providing support when it is most needed by people and their families suffering from cancer.

If you could spare any amount to donate it would be very much appreciated both by us as an incentive and more importantly to help Macmillan continue their invaluable work.

Thank you very much for your time and any donation made.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

We have now got our own website and blog page set up - please click on the following link:

http://www.jogle84.moonfruit.com/
