Done it !  1062 miles in ten and a half days.  71 hours in the saddle.  Finished at 1 pm on 14th May.

Thanks to everyone for the generous support.  Please don't stop giving ! - Nearly There !

Hello, I'm Tim Watts.  I have been a serving soldier now for over 30 years.  In early May 2010 I'll be cycling with Bob Butler and Guy Richards from John o' Groats to Lands End, to raise money for the Army Benevolent Fund, the Soldiers' Charity.

Just to make sure this is not too easy, we'll be adding a couple of hundred extra miles or so to take in Catterick, Stafford, Bramcote, Colerne, and Blandford Camp, the Home of the Royal Corps of Signals in the year of its 90th birthday - a total of about 1,100 miles.

The Army Benevolent Fund helps retired and serving soldiers and their families, and has done for 66 years.  The charity has worked quietly in the background, responding to the needs of recent operations in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere, but it looks after serving and retired soldiers and their families of all ages.  Recently, calls on the ABF have increased by 30%, and the charity needs to up its income from £7 million to £14 million per year to meet the demand.

There have been some very generous donations already - please don't feel you need to match the amounts - every litttle helps and you can donate anonymously.  So please give what you can - our Soldiers' Charity really needs your help.

Many thanks for taking the time to read this - please feel free to pass it on !

All the best,

Tim
