Thank you for looking at this page! I am preparing to run the London Marathon and would be really grateful for your help in supporting the Alzheimer's Society.
There are currently over 800,000 people with dementia in the U.K. One of them is Edna Morgan, my grandma, a woman who has always approached life with a strong sense of faith and determination. I will be drawing on some of these qualities as I get around London in a few weeks.
Before I started my training in the autumn I had never run further than abut 5km (3 miles). I see running this marathon as the ultimate way to challenge myself whilst raising money for a cause which is particularly special to me because of the impact dementia has had on my Grandma and those who love her.
The Alzheimer's Society is a fantastic charity which provides information and support for people with all types of dementia, their families and their carers. They campaign and lobby to influence government policy and raise understanding of this disease and they fund research into the cause, cure and care of dementia. 1 in 3 people over the age of 65 years will die with dementia. The Alzheimer's Society rely on voluntary contributions to carry out their work as its need increases in the context of an ageing population.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
Please help me support this charity by donating now.. your money will not only help this brilliant cause, but encourage me to keep on track as my training intensifies and the countdown to London begins! Thank you very much. X
