Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I work for a charity called Crossroads Care in the Vale which supports the main carer of those who have developed a mental illness in later life, such as dementia. The charity provides care in the home and in the community for the sufferer, together with counselling and support groups for the carer.
Taking part in the Snowdonia Marathon will be the toughest physical challenge I have ever faced. It is a full 26.2 mile course through mountainous terrain, with some off-road sections, and very unpredictable weather! Unlike the popular marathon courses, such as the Virgin London Marathon, there will be little support along the route. The funds I raise will go towards helping carers have a break from their often stressful caring role, and enable people with dementia to continue living at home for as long as possible.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks a million for your support.
Jo
