Hi... My name is John, I am 42 and have 5 great kids and yes I support Derby County !!!!

Why am I running the Great South Run...... I don't know..... I do know that I don't like running, in fact I really really really don't like running, and it hurts.... a lot.

The furthest i have run ever was 6 miles..... when I was at school, and the furthest since I left school is 2.5 miles.... so 10 miles is a big step up, with lots of pain beckoning

When  I started my training I wanted to stop after just 1/4 mile, it hurt, I was out of breath and wanted to stop..... Its not like circuit training!!  that was a few months ago, and many miles of jogging/running later I have managed to run farther than ever before, 6 miles run, plus 2 miles jogging in one go, nearly there!! just another 2 miles to go on top of this and I'm there!!  It still hurts, and I still don't really like it, but I am doing it and will complete this run.

 

So.... if you can help in any way... big or small please do ....
