HELP THE RAILWAY CHILDREN

Mont Blanc Challenge · 22 August 2012
Hi there, thanks for visiting our web page. Next month Dave Burgess, Chris Lukehurst, Matt Sercombe, John Westwood and I, a team of 5 non climbing civilians will be spending a week in the Alps. During this time, we will be learning ice climbing techniques, acclimatising to altitude and then attempting to summit Mont Blanc, the tallest mountain in the EU. Our goal is to raise funds for the Railway Children's Charity as well as doing the climb in memory of Andy Naylor who tragically died whilst competing in the New York Iron Man competition.
Please view the video in the gallery section of this page for information on their fantastic work.
Mont Blanc stands at 4,810m, the air will be thinner at altitude, with each lungful of air supplying less oxygen to us. As a result, our bodies will have to work harder to maintain this supply. The altitude and weather present the largest risks to our summit attempt. It is going to be a real challenge. We have trained hard, we are very committed and will give it our absolute best effort in support of the Railway Children's Charity. We would be grateful for your support and appreciate any sponsorship or support you can give for this very worthy cause.
All donations will go directly to the charity. We are funding all the preparation, equipment, guide fees and travel. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thanks again from all the team.
