South Bank Walk · 25 September 2015

We conduct world class medical research projects. We diagnose and treat thousands of people with epilepsy every year. We do this and much more. We are the UK’s national medical epilepsy charity. With Epilepsy Society, you don’t have to deal with epilepsy alone.

Story

This year Gleeds is celebrating 130 years in business. To mark the occasion, we’re aiming to fundraise £130,000 for charities across the world in one week. We’ve called our initiative the Gleeds Global Challenge.

Between 21 – 25 September each of our 56 global offices will spend a day completing a challenge they’ve set themselves, raising money for a charity they’ve chosen.

The race is on…

On Friday 25 September, some of the staff in our London office wand I will be walking from the O2 Arena in Greenwich, along the South Bank, back to our offices in the West End in the quickest possible time. The 12 mile trek will be walked during the working day..

Fighting Epilepsy

As funds raised will be donated to the Epilepsy Society, having a close family member with the condition for the majority of their life, I know first hand how Epilepsy can affect your daily life. More than half a million people in the UK have Epilepsy. This is around 1 in 100 people. Anyone can develop epilepsy, it happens in all ages races and social classes. Epilepsy is most commonly diagnosed in children and people over 65.
