Story
Thanks for visiting my fund raising page today.
In 2008 we as a team managed to raise around £500 for this great charity - and it would be great to top this in 2009. We are all training hard and hoping to get there together as one unit - can you help us please by considering a small donation via this site?
For 2009 the challenge we've set ourselves is bigger by far than last year, as we've nominated our yacht Swagman to do the Round The Island Yacht Race on the same weekend!
This RTIYR is the largest yacht race in the world with conventionally over 1,800 participating race yachts. It goes for about 65 miles around the Isle of White just off our home port of Lymington.
We'll start the race around 6 am Saturday, aim to get round and to the finish to get into the top 10% of finishers, and then straight back to Lymington to then jump in a car and drive directly to Brighton.
Early Sunday morning we'll be up before dawn to catch a bus to London, then finish off by riding the 65 miles back doen to the coast. And we'll try to do that in the top 10% of 30,000 cyclists taking part as well.
So - a big challenge for such oldies - and one that needs your support.
Donating to help the BHF through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me. British Heart Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
So please sponsor me and Swagman right now. Even $10 will help towards saving lives - $20 will save twice as many!
Thanks in greatful anticipation..........
