Sponsored Cycle · 4 June 2006 ·

The Childrens Arthritis Trust supports Great Ormond Street Hospital and University College Hospital London to improve the care and treatment of children and young people with arthritis. Our goal is to strengthen the medical team by the provision of dedicated specialists in nursing and physiotherapy; and support staff to enable doctors to administer new and novel treatments to better manage the disease.

In Memory of James Herson - age 16

It is now nearly 5 years since James died and a lasting memorial to his memory is now taking shape. He has missed out on all that life has to offer but we can Make a Difference for all those other children and young people that suffer from arthritis - to try and make their lives as fulfilled as possible despite the pain and disability they endure.

So St Albans to Rome. 1500 miles and as an additional challenge Mont Ventoux in the south of France - 6300 feet and 14 miles up which we will foolishly attempt to climb to encourage you to give CAT even more money.

A challenge in our 60th year - but we always remember that the children we help will never be able to take on physical challenges - to become athletes or sports men and women.

We realise there are many competitors for your hard earned cash but we hope the challenge we have set ourselves will encourage you to dig deep.

Every penny goes to help the kids as we are funding the trip.

There will be a post ride report on the website - www.c-a-t.org.uk in July.

Thank you for your support and generosity and a big thankyou on behalf of all the children and young people that will benefit from your contribution.

With best wishes to you all.

John and Trisha.
