Le Knees 2007 · 7 August 2007

Far too many of us have felt the pain of losing someone we love. With your donations, we power groundbreaking cardiovascular research to save and improve lives, bring hope to families, and keep hearts beating across the UK.

Story

The Challenge: For 2 weeks in September we will be cycling the length of the Pyrenees from Biarritz on the Atlantic to Perpignan on theMediterranean .  We'll be cycling approx. 600 miles and climbing at least 16,000m (over twice the height of Everest).   The route will take in about 20 peaks including the infamous Col du Tourmalet (2,115m), Col d'Aubisque (1,709m) and the Col d'Aspin (1,489m).

The Training: I have been putting the miles in but it is difficult to train for the climbs in Norfolk !  We have all put in alot of time and effort preparing for the event and hope we are ready to take on thePyrenees .

The Motivation: In 2004 we raised a significant sum for our nominated charities by cycling from Lands End to John O'Groats.  We decided then that we would need to find an even greater challenge before approaching you, our sponsors, to ask you to dig deep again and help us raise even more money this year.

We've each regestered with one charity, I have chosen The British Heart Foundation as I started cycling more seriously on the back of the London toBrighton bike ride which they organise each year.  The other charities being supported are: The British Kidney Patients Association, The Princes Trust, Aids Orphanage Charity & ICan.

There is a web page with more information on the event, please follow this link:

We all thank you for your support,

 John
