Story
October 2, 2006:
Yesterday Dad, Iain and myself completed the Great North Run in one piece! It was another hot day, despite the forecast of showers which, unfortunately, never materialised. But Iain still managed to sneak a PB of 1.38.05 as me and him crossed the line together!
We all met up at the Christie's tent again afterwards where we were looked after superbly as usual. I reckon myself and Iain have raised over a grand so far - plus however much dad has earned in the old fashioned sponsorship way!
Christie's is the cancer hospital in Manchester where mum - aka r ma! - went for treatment during her illness. The people there do a wonderful job and events like this help them to keep caring for people in similar situations to us.
Thanks very much to all those who have donated so far. You can be assured that your money has gone to an excellent cause helping the battle against cancer and the care of those suffering and their families.
The GNR may be over for this year - but there is still time for you to donate. This page will stay live until December 1, so if you've not sponsored me yet it'd be great if you would!
Keep up with my running at www.bl6.co.uk/run.htm
