As my daughter, Michelle, who did last years London Marathon on stilts and gained a Guinness World Record, had got a place in this years marathon for both of us and I have just had my 50th birthday I couldn’t refuse the opportunity to do my first marathon at 50. We will both be doing it on behalf of Reach! REACH is a charity that helped our family with support and advice when my eldest daughter, Samantha, was born without a right hand and I am pleased to try and help raise as much as I can for them.
We both managed to complete the course and in doing so we both set PERSONAL BEST times............. oh OK so it was my first ( and likely to be ONLY ) marathon but it is still a personal best time. Thanks to all those who have donated and to those along the way shouting support. It certainly helped make it a wonderful day.
