My story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page. I am really excited about the challenge of running my first Marathon and in raising funds for a local cancer charity here in Scotland at the same time.

I  do have a target time which I have set myself but I don't think I'll share that with you at the moment ... ......

Now the serious stuff.........

Prostate cancer is more common than you think - about 1 in 2 men will be affected by prostate disease during their lives - In Scotland 1 in 12 men will develop prostate cancer during their life.  More information  can be found on the charity's web-site.

I am a relatively late-starter to running, taking it up in my 4th decade ( the same decade that the prostate begins to enlarge). To say that it has become a way of life for me is an understatement. It was only natural that one day I would tackle the ultimate prize - the marathon.  My training plan is varied and does not always involve running ( as can be seen from the youtube clip).

I am keeping a diary blog of my training via facebook  ( search under John Fulham , Edinburgh)

Along with your support, we can help make a difference together with Prostate Scotland.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Prostate Scotland gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor me now!

Thanking you in Advance

John
