Story

JOHN HALLAM AIMING FOR SUB-3 HOUR MARATHON!!!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page! I've completed a total of 8 marathons running all across Europe; Paris, Venice, Berlin, Edinburgh & London on several occasions in the last 5 years. His PB is 3hours 15minutes that was set in Paris. I'm aiming for my 1st Sub-3 hour marathon this year with some heavy training schedules. This years outfit is a Spartan warrior complete with spear! The fancy dress makes it worthwhile when you think of the £3000 raised for St Johns Hospice, Lancaster during John's previous races.

The Training

This takes place over 18 weeks and is already well under way. Most of the training will take place between Birmingham, The Lake District and The Cotswolds running anywhere from 3-15 miles a session, 4-5 times a week. It's a hectic programme but I'm aiming high and hoping that people will realise the effort being put in for this amazing charity.

The Charity

The reason the charity is so close is because my gran went to the hospice during her last stages of life while suffering with breast cancer. I always remembers her saying that it was a fantastic place and they looked after her so much. I want to do some fundraising and thank the hospice for all they did. They care for patients and their families and carers across North Lancashire, South Cumbria and parts of North Yorkshire. Their website is: http://www.sjhospice.org.uk/

Donating is simple, fast and secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Please give as much as you possibly can as it's for a great cause. We're aiming for a great times while dressing up in a great costume.

John Hallam xx
