St Helena cares for up to 1,500 patients with advanced terminal illness a year. There is a 15 bed Inpatient unit and also two Day Centres, one in Colchester and one in Clacton. Their aim is to improve the quality of life and to do this a wide range of therapies and treatments are available from fully trained professional staff and over 400 volunteers. All services are free to patients and their families. The cost of providing specialist, dedicated support each year is over £4.2 million.
