The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds. Your support can help us to fund life-changing and potentially life-saving projects that will benefit cancer patients both now and in the future.

Story

Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page.

This is our first team challenge: the Wilmslow Half Marathon!

After months of hard training during our lunch hour around the Salford Quays, we are now ready (we hope) to undertake the British Half Marathon Championships in Wilmslow, later on in March.

For some of us this will be the first half marathon we run, so crossing the finish line will be the main goal. For some others, this year's challenge will be to get as close to Mo Farah's recent achievement (and new British record) of 60:23 mins in New Orleans as possible (yes, 60 minutes for a mere 13 miles!!). We need to keep putting the pressure on the boy you see...

We have all followed very strict diets including giving up alcohol, chips and kebabs. We have also been doing some serious cross-training with sessions at the gym, swimming pool and Subway.

Our team is raising money for The Christie, a local charity close to where we work in Manchester, UK.

We hope you realise how hard running 13.1 miles is and hope you can support us, and therefore our chosen charity, as much as you can.

So a BIG thank you from Guy, Dan, Mark and Seb and we hope to see some of you on the big day for some well needed shouts of support (and abuse we're sure!).

Cheers!
