I was successful in completing the challenge, and very happy about it.
The experience was wonderful and very challenging. Thank you to everyone who has been rooting for me, and all who have helped me achieve the target of £5,000. There is still a way to go to reach that target. This site closes in mid- December, so you still have time to help me reach the target for the National Star College. The challenge was in India, up country in Dharamsala, with a trek of 58 kms over 5 days in the Himalayas reaching an altitude of 3,500m. The money my trek challenge raises will enable students at the National Star College to meet their lifetime challenges through the provision of new, modern facilities.
The National Star College is an independent specialist residential college for young people with physical disabilities or acquired brain injuries. Its mission is to enable its students to prepare for the best that adult life can offer through cost effective, innovative programmes of education, training and independence. As a registered charity the College relies on fundraising and donations to constantly improve the provision of its educational and residentail facilities to meet the increasingly complex needs of its students with severe disabilities.
What I know about the National Star College is that it's a wonderful place to be, because it changes lives. It's a positive, challenging place, brought to life by its students and dedicated staff. Help me support them today.
