BUPA Great North Run 2008 · 5 October 2008 ·

CAFOD works with local partners and communities across the world - responding to emergencies, promoting long-term development and raising public awareness of the causes of poverty. We work with people of all faiths and none for a safe, sustainable and peaceful world.

Story

If I can raise £200 I'll run the last 1.1 miles barefoot.

How's that for solidarity with the poor!

The really important thing is to raise some cash for CAFOD to continue to support some of the poorest communities around the world. They do excellent work and don't seek the high profile that they  deserve. They are there for the long haul, helping long after the media attention has moved on. I think that's what it's really all about....

My training camp has been through some turmoil since last year with a change of training partners. My old training chum, Bud Wiser has had to retire due to his ongoing insobriety problems. He has been replaced by Pastor Anne Source, providing me with unlimited energy and sustenance. Margharita's always 'round to help out as well.

Now the official dull bit...
