Cricket Without Boundaries is dedicated to helping, educating and developing local communities around the world through the spread and growth of cricket. Crucially, CWB also uses cricket as a tool in the fight against AIDS. CWB’s training sessions have at their heart discussion about the disease in terms of prevention, treatment and equality of treatment for those with and without the disease.

Story

Dear all

Here I am back in the UK and just in time for Christmas - it is cold!

Uganda, what a place! Lovely people, lovely weather, lovely lush, green country. Lots of poverty, but lots of very happy and seemingly content people, who made us very welcome.

The cricket went very well and I would like to thank all the charity supporters once again for their generosity. It was great to see where the money gets used - kit, tee shirts, coaching resource, etc.

We certainly made a mark there and have set up and supported sustainable programmes in Kampala and Jinja.

Blueprint is to create more coaches by delivering the ICC level 0 programme, create interest in the local children through running sessions and competitions, then leaving the coaches with their new expertise and kit to continue (commitment in Jinja from the new coaches was for new sessions for the kids every Saturday morning!)

Fantastic experience and already looking forward to returning.

Thanks again for all the support, merry Christmas and a very happy New Year.

John
