The Haute Route Mulqueen challenge 2009 · 5 June 2009

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

From Mont Blanc to the Matterhorn.

Dear Friend, Relative, Colleague,

Inspired by last year's Trek and the £2000 you helped me raise for the Alzheimer's society, my son Joe and I have joined forces, raised the bar, and have decided to tackle the infamous Haute Route Trek. This Trek starts in Chamonix and ends, 15 gruelling days later, in Zermatt.  It is designated as a "very challenging" walk. Some Stats:

- 184km in length             - 14 nights spent in remote mountain huts

- 14,000m total ascent    - 2 Glacier traverses

We start the Trek on 1st July returning on 15th July 2009. Once again, we will be raising money for the Alzheimers society and I hope that in the current economic climate you can find it in your hearts to support this worthy cause.

Thank you
