Right To Play protects, educates & empowers children to rise above adversity. Using the power of play we help them stay in school, withstand exploitation, prevent disease and heal from war and abuse. We enable them to make positive choices, creating better futures for themselves and their societies.

Story

MEET MY TEAM

Myself, John Hallam, Carl Maitland & Ben Richards

Thanks for taking time to visit my Just Giving sponsorship page. We are all excited and looking forward to cycling 1,087 from the very top of Scotland (John O'Groats) down to the bottom of England (Lands’ end). We have adapted the route so we can pass through places close to us; The Lake District, Morecambe Bay, Birmingham, Stafford & Cheltenham. We are aiming to complete the challenge in 11 days which means just less than 100 miles cycling each day.

THE TRAINING

Each of the lads will be training hard from the start of 2013 up until the event which will be taking place from the 2nd September - 12th September 2013. Training consists of between 100 - 200 miles cycling a week to get everyone in shape for the gruelling 1,087 mile bicycle ride in 11 days! It's a tough training regime, but one that each of the lads is ready to undertake.

THE CHARITY

Right To Play is an amazing charity who aims to improve the lives of some of the most disadvantaged children around the world. They do this by using the power of sport and play for development, health and peace. Right To Play works and has programmes in the following countries; Benin, Burundi, China, Ethiopia, Ghana, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Liberia, Pakistan, Peru, Rwanda, Thailand & Uganda.

The £10,000 we aim to raise in sponsorship will help dramatically improve the lives of many children globally, which is why we are determined to train hard, raise as much money as we possibly can and ensure that we complete the bicycle race in the set target of 11 days. We would appreciate as much as you possibly can to sponsor us. After all it's a fantastic cause, a great challenge and will push us all to our limits.

Donating is simple, fast and secure. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - we raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity. Please give as much as you possibly can as it's for a great cause.
