I managed to do a bunjee jump off a bridge two years ago when visiting my brother and his family in Canada but both Trevor and Robert had done it before me. The parachute jump has always appealed to me, despite having a fear of heights, and doing it before any of my mad brothers would be a bonus. When I started my new job at St Peter's in January, one of the governors offered me the chance to jump for charity and the School Council asked me to do it on their behalf so I had to say yes. The charity is also known as Childcare and it does wonderful work with children and families in need, addressing issues such as grief counselling, anger management, low self-esteem, financial support and lots more besides. BCCS works with families in need in Essex and East London of any or no religious persuasion. I am very pleased to be able to fulfil a lifetime's ambition at the same time as helping provide funds for such a worthy local cause. Any support you can give will be put to very good use, particularly in the current economic climate.

UPDATE: 16 MAY

Following a wait at the airfield from 8:15am with my wife and other family members I finally got off the ground at 6:30pm and did the jump. What an amazing adrenalin rush! Thanks to my wonderful in-laws, I have video evidence for anyone who is interested to watch. I would like to thank Dick & Julie from BCCS for coming to support us. This page will remain open until I have collected in the sponsorship money and handed it over. Thanks to everyone who was kind enough to support me, St Peter's and this wonderful charity.
