In memory of John Robert Pybus

Brake is a national road safety charity that cares for road victims and campaigns for safer roads for all. Brake's National Road Victim Service is a specialist support service to help families cope with the shock, turmoil and devastation that road crashes cause families across the UK every day.

Story

John Robert Pybus was killed in a road accident on 2nd November 2007 at the young age of 33, leaving a wife, Helen and daughter, Zoe. This web page was set up by the friends of John who met him at university in 1994.

John's wife Helen requested that his friends donate money to Brake, the road safety charity, rather than buy them flowers. So, I thought I would set up a page on justgiving to make it easy for anyone who wishes to donate. John was an advocate of the Internet and it has helped keep us all in touch, so it seemed appropriate.

The image is one I found with the most of us on it, John is in the bright blue shirt. I am not sure who took the picture, but my guess is that Helen took the photo on a weekend over to see John. The fundraising target is an arbitrary figure that I entered and any monies would be welcome, but do not feel obliged to contribute in this way.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. I used justgiving when I cycled across the Andes last year. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Brake, the road safety charity will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.

Martin.
