Confirm my retirement from marathon running!!
19th April - another 10 miles completed one more 4 mile run planned for before the big day
10th April - another long run at the weekend (15 miles) so with less than two weeks to go the "slow down has started." Still no booze and a lot of carbos!!
27th March 20 miles (just under) achieved!! Time estimated at 3 hours 30 mins with the last 3 miles in the rain and hail.
15th March...Brentwood 1/2 marathon time 1hour 59 mins 35sec - very tough a hot day with the last 2 miles uphill. I came 974 out of 2500 runners.
The reason for doing this is that a lovely girlfriend of mine and Jenny's has advanced MS, which as we all know, is a horrific illness for all involved. For this lovely lady I can pour her red wine, light her cigarettes but I can't give her back her health. But what I can do, in this very small way, is to help raise the maximum amount of monies to support the families that are affected by MS.
For those who are concerned let me assure that post marathon I will enjoy returning to my normal fighting weight!!
