On the 10/04/09 myself and Tim will be taking part in the sponsored abseil at Botany Bay in Chorley in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

As my grandaughter, Laura, is a CF sufferer I felt this was the perfect cause, so please give as much as possible to a great cause. Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me, the Cystic Fibrosis Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

CF was a complete unknown to me prior to Laura being diagnosed. It was a real shaker to find out that she suffered with CF. She is a little diamond and takes to the physio and medication really well, and to look at her you wouldn't think there was anything wrong. The challenge is to ensure that she stays fit and well so that when an effective therapy is available Laura is in an A1 position to gain the maximum benefit from the therapy. I'm no expert on the research thats going on I just hope to support Laura in the best way that I can. So doing daft things like abseiling down buildings etc, is one way that I can support Laura and her fellow sufferers.

An added incentive for me is that when I dumped into Brian (a guy who I worked with for a few years) told me that he has a fourteen month old little girl who suffers with CF. Unfortunately she seems to be a more chronic sufferer than Laura and you could tell he had faced up to things and found an inner strength to cope with her condition. I really felt for him. So please dig deep and sponsor me now to help this great cause!.
