Flora London Marathon 2008 · 13 April 2008 ·

Every 2 hours, someone in the UK sustains a spinal cord injury. Their world – and that of their family – is turned upside-down. SIA aim to reach everyone affected by spinal cord injury, to connect them to all the help and support they need to life a fulfilled life.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page and looking to sponsor me in the London Marathon on April 13, 2008. I am raising money for Spinal Injuries Association in the UK (SIA) via this website.

After having seen the impact a major spinal injury can have on a family, I have chosen SIA in the UK. I know what it is like to have a family member live through an injury of this magnitude and I think SIA provides an amazing service for the patients and their families. It is everything you would want from care, to support, to encouragement and everything in between. Individuals living with the impairment, and their families, are faced with not only the challenge of coming to terms with the injury, but also rebuilding their lives with a disability. The founders themselves had spinal chord injuries and, to this day, SIA is run by a board of trustees who live with spinal chord injuries.

If you are looking to sponsor me, please make a donation on this site. Please don't feel any  pressure to contribute. All I ask is for everybody in London to come out and cheer me on. Thanks for your support.

Regards,

John
