Story

I have just signed up to walk 50km in sub 10 hours. I am doing it in aid of Macmillan cancer and here are the reasons why your sponsorship donations matter. - not till sept so plenty of time to train and donate!

THE MOST IMPORTANT REASON

We need to keep fighting cancer, The statistic is frightening: 1 in 3 of us will get cancer in our lifetime. And it is a battle for which we need strength, positivity and support to fight.

Macmillan is a charity that is invaluable to those who are faced with this battle. They offer support that stretches from nursing care, through to financial advice, healthcare professionals and end of life care. They are there for those diagnosed as well as friends and family and are involved in the wider community.

Macmillan is there to help take the everyday worries away, allowing you to fight the biggest war your faced with.  To find out more about them you can visit: http://www.macmillan.org.uk

Why have I chose Macmillan

Sadly I have known too many people (most my age) diagnosed with cancer over the past 8 years. Some of these friends have won their battle and for that I am doing this to celebrate, others have not been so lucky and for them I am doing this challenge in memory of some amazing fighters.

These people are the bravest people I know.

For my friends and family who have been affected or those who god forbid may be affected in the future, it is so important to  keep giving to those charities that support us in the greatest time of need.

Why give me money?

Right, the above should be enough for you to cough up but if it isn't here is some personal begging.  The last time I did something sponsored I think I was 11 years old and was jumping  on a lolo ball at school. Over the years, I have chosen to sponsor other people rather than be sponsored, so for all those people I donated to see them do a challenge it is pay back time and I ask you all kindly to dig deep and donate.

More over I have done some random things over the years from moving to a country I had never visited before (TWICE) -  sailed the North Sea (having never sailed before) swam in the freezing cold North Atlantic (at midnight in nothing more that a wetsuit) through to diving with bull sharks (without a cage) but this for me is the biggest challenge so far. I don't do exercise well, we have never really got on! And whilst I can't claim to be running a marathon this is a 50km walk of endurance and for those that want to support me or simply laugh at me then please donate now. I promise to show you photos of my pain.

Thank you.
