Story
Well, we made it ...
.... it was a bit of a slog at times but we had an amazing group spirit and lots of fun along the way.
Everyone played their part to make this trip unforgettable. Cam was our inspirational leader, pace-setter and walkie talkie wielding dynamo; James was our linguistic maestro, guide and photographer-in-chief; Steve was our Mr Fix-It and without Anita it just wouldn't have happened (in fact, for Anita it shouldn't have happened - her venerable old bike protested all the way and is now officially retired!).
We had a bit of luck too and moments of true kindness from people we met along the way. Special thanks go to the guys at Horley Cycle Centre (Smallfield Rd, Horley, RH6 9AU, 01293 771177 ) who fixed Anita's bike for free, a guy running a campsite near Newhaven who took us in late at night and who also sponsored us, an eccentric old girl in a French village who filled up our water bottles ... and then there were the countless number of understanding motorists and people who gave us directions ...
However the biggest thanks must go to all of you who have sponsored us so generously. We may not been able to thank you personally yet but we'd just like to say you've been amazing!!! If you would still like to sponsor us then please do, and we'd like to thank you in advance for being so kind.
Here's a link to our pics on flickr for you to have a nose at!
