Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
A fabulous woman has inspired me to do a challenge like I have never (seriously – never) done before and I will be joining her on the London to Paris Cycle ride on the 8th - 12th May 2013. (Darn you Kirsty Young!)
As many of you know, I have been involved in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award (DofE) for many years. The DofE has made a massive positive impact on my life and continues to do so for hundreds of thousands of young people today.
This is my way of wanting to give something back and raise funds to support those young people who want to DofE but don’t have the money to do so. The money I raise will be donated to The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award London to support disadvantaged young people take part in a programme that will help them explore new talents and abilities, build new relationships, develop self-confidence, and gain a sense of responsibility and the ability to work as part of a team. Something that is much needed to help young people prepare for the world of life and work.
I will be cycling 300 miles over 4 days with a fundraising target of £1450.00. That means I need to raise £4.83 for every mile I will cycle!
Day 1 - 95 miles and £458.85 needed to get me from London to Calais.
Day 2 - 75 miles and £362.25 needed to get me from Calais to Abberville.
Day 3 - 70 miles and £338.10 needed to get me from Abberville to Beauvais.
Day 4 - 60 miles and £289.80 needed to get me from Beauvais to Paris and the finish line!
All I need is 73 people kind enough to each sponsor me £20 for 4 miles (or more if you'd like) and I'll make it all the way to Paris.
Please dig deep and donate what you can – every penny will help me pedal.
