Story
Jospeh is 5 years old, in January 2013 he was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma, an aggressive childhood cancer. The tumour has grown around his kidney and there is cancer evidence in his bone marrow, hips and thighs. Joseph ia currently receiving frontline treatment at Leeds General Infirmary.
I plan to run the Chester marathon (26.2 miles) on the 6 October 2013 to raise money for the Neuroblastoma Alliance UK.
I have also chosen the charity because they will help Joseph if he needs clinical treatment that is only available abroad.
Joseph has a long road ahead of him before remission but I would like to fundraise for Neuroblastoma Alliance UK now so that funds are available should treatment abroad be required.
The charity helps children if they need clinical treatment that is only available abroad. To date, they have enabled 21 children to access the potentially life-saving clinical treatment abroad they needed and have funded ground-breaking neuroblastoma research.
We pray that Joseph’s frontline treatment is a success and that he won’t need any further treatment.
Should Joseph not require such treatments any funds raised will go directly to The Neuroblastoma Alliance UK to help fund children who do need further treatment.
In addition, the funds will aid the research and development of new and improved treatment of this childhood cancer.
