Scafell Pike Challenge · 17 May 2009

At Compton Care, we're here to help people navigate every aspect of life following a palliative diagnosis. We believe people are more than their diagnosis and we work with patients to give them great quality clinical expertise, care, compassion and emotional support to live their best life possible.

Story

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page.

Brad and I will be climbing England's highest mountain Scafell Pike on Saturday 11 July 2009. It's going to be 14 miles approximately 10 hours of walking up challenging terrain for a really good cause. Training has been going a little slowly but we've bought the boots and are starting to walk them in!

Compton Hospice has been supporting the people of Wolverhampton and its surrounding areas for over 25 years now. They provide specialist care for people who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness such as cancer. Their Palliative care services include advice on sympton control and treatment of pain in their 22 bedded In-patient Unit and 20 place Day Unit. Not only do they treat their patients but they also look after their families as well, providing counselling for both patients and relatives, complementary therapies, a chaplaincy service and welfare services. They even have a Clinical Nurse Specialist team who will support patients in their own homes.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor us: Compton Hospice Ltd gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

We really would be grateful for you sponsorship. Thank you all so much for your support.
