Story
Between now and the 23rd December 2012 we are aiming to raise £1000 in order to directly fund one of TREE AID's projects. We hope that watching the project's development will be a pleasant, and lasting, reminder of the generosity of our friends and families.
TREE AID's Community Self Reliance Project is working with children in 12 schools to teach them to protect and repair their local environment using trees. Learning to grow trees from seed; to graft fruit trees to speed up the harvest; and involving their parents to set up enterprise groups that earn money from selling things that grow on trees. Whole villages are being brought back to life.
Please make a gift to TREE AID to help the familes involved in the Community Self Reliance Project to launch their Village Tree Enterprises. Selling honey from tree blossom, dried mango and baobab leaves means families can create a sustainable income so they have a safety net when times are tought. Trees means communities can begin to thrive, not just survive.
