Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page

So what are we doing? Well Five friends are driving from London to Mongolia in a Bedford Green Goddess.

Visit the Website for more details: Genghis Goddess

Why drive 10,000 miles across the world in an antique fire engine? There are of course the obvious dangers and excitement of the voyage, but there is also a serious and humanitarian side.

We wish to raise money for MercyCorps, which operates all around the world. In Mongolia they are supporting herding families and rural communities through economic, agricultural and educational programmes. One word they may learn is “tan,” the term for an ancient blend of medicinal herbs. Honoring this heritage, our TAN Project combines local resources to help rural Mongolians build a stronger economy and civil society that also preserves important traditions

We also wish to deliver a robust vehicle into a vast and inhospitable environment where its versatility and reliability will be of great use to the Mongolian people. The vehicle can obviously be used as a fire engine but also as a transport vehicle, distributing water and medical supplies between remote villages.

So who are we?

As with all epic adventures, ours started seven years ago on a napkin, when these three unlikely friends met. After our school days we would never be seen apart, not even when Edd managed to get away to Nepal did it stop Jon popping in for a visit in his hilltop village. No, we are just three guys inseparably stuck with eachother for rest of our lives.
