I am Ben Reep and I was diagnosed with a brain tumour last year. To the relief of my family 80% of it was removed and I have made an excellent recovery. However I still have 20% left in the middle of my brain which is too difficult to remove so we have to sit and wait to see if it causes me me anymore problems. I have to have regular scans and follow up, my next one being in May.

In the meantime my family are all working hard to raise money for the Samantha Dickson Charity who have helped me and my family over the last few months. The charity puts the money raised towards much needed research into my tumour and many other types of brain tumours. To completely cure my tumour I would need it to have all been removed, as this is not possible I am part of a research trial. There are many trials through out the world to try and find the best course of treatment to find a cure and hopefully the scientists will find one for me and many other children. Only 1% of all cancer research goes into brain tumours, so the Samantha Dickson charity wants to raise awareness and give as much money to Brain Tumour research as possible.

So I need your help. My family are always thinking of ways to fund raise, my Aunty Hazel ran a half marathon on the 9th May 2010 my birthday! and she raised lots of money, as she promised to run as fast as she could without stopping! Your donations  helped encourage Hazel up those very steep yorkshire hills.

Because everyone has been so generous I've had to up the target. So a big thankyou to everyone who has donated so far. This money will be so well used and hopefully benefit my friend Camille who is very poorly in Addenbrookes with a brain tumour. Its for children like her that the research is so desperately needed. So thanks a million to everyone.

Thankyou for taking time to read this message and thankyou Auntie Hazel

 Love Ben xxx
