Coast to Coast Walk · 9 March 2009

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the leading charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

My aunt Sylvia died just before Christmas last year. I was very close to her and I miss her very much.

In the last few years, Sylvia suffered two life-changing strokes. She had always had an incredible sense of fun and such a strong personality. Both were altered by those strokes.

I wanted to find a way both to honour her memory and to raise some money for research, so that perhaps others can be helped and cared for better.

I have decided to walk from one side of England to the other, from St Bees Head in Cumbria to Robin Hood's Bay in Yorkshire. It's 190 miles and will take me a couple of weeks. If you fancy joining me for any part of the walk, from 20 April onwards, please get in touch - I'd be delighted for some company! If not, please do consider sponsoring me.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Stroke Association gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
