Hello (again!) my friends 
I have just given a flute recital - my first in about 15 years!- from which I am really hoping to raise £750. I'm about £100 off my target, so if you are feeling able to support me, any contribution will be most gratefully received.  

As you probably know by now,  Shining Life Children’s Trust, a development charity I founded with a friend is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year. We are marking the anniversary by starting a new project with a community in Rikillagaskada, a tea-estate in the Hill Country of central Sri Lanka. Home to 1000 people including 300 children, this tea-picking community desperately needs our support. Every family works on the tea estate and their small income is supplemented by market gardening. This community is so poor that they have no electricity, running water or sanitation facilities – they have to use the local river for all their needs. Shining Life will work with this community to provide basic health and nutrition training, investment in pre-schools, income generating training and small loan credit schemes. The 4-year project will cost in the region of £30,000.
