My story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
Edward Griffiths, the 17 yr old son of BAA London Gatwick Airport's Managing Director, Paul Griffiths, died last month after a two year battle with Leukaemia. In his memory I wanted to raise some money to further the research into this horrible disease, which takes away young people's lives.
I have had a beard for nearly 25 years and so shaving it off is a really big thing. All my friends and family have know me all my adult life with a beard . So I feel its going to be very strange all round. Shaving all the hair off will help me realise how people who loose their hair through Chemo Therapy feel.
So it will take place live in London Gatwick Airport's South Terminal, near the Information Desk, on Friday 27th October, at 11.00 am. This is also Beast Cancer awareness day so please come and support me and wear something Pink!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Leukaemia Research Fund will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Hopefully this will go into his own, 'Forget Me Not' site. So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support, with kind regards from Jonathan.
P.S. The highest person donating as at 9.00am on on Friday 27th October, at 11.00 am. will be able totake the first shave!!
