Story
Thanks for visiting my page.
I first heard about Camtrust through a friend of mine, Jamie Inman. Jamie works at Camtrust on Mondays and Wednesdays. He loves it there. He loves the atmosphere, the trust placed in him, and the independence that the skills that he is learning will give him. It is a very special place indeed.
I have been lucky enough over the six months or so to spend most Fridays with Jamie. Officially I guess that I work as his carer but, to be honest, it is much more like two friends having a day out visiting places, running errands, or just spending time with each other. He truly is one of the most inspiring characters that my friends or I have met. Having heard the way that he talks about the organisation, I believe that Camtrust plays an important role in helping him to develop the skills that, in combination with his indefatigable attitude, will enable him to lead an extraordinary life.
A couple of months ago I decided to (attempt to) run the Great North Run this year. From having spoken to Jamie and his family it became clear that Camtrust face a constant battle for funding. I thought that perhaps I could make a difference, albeit only a small one. As a result, any money that I am successful in raising through my run will go directly to Camtrust to use as they see fit.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Camtrust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
Any sponsorship is greatly appreciated and will be sure to make a huge difference for a great organisation.
