Save the Children exists to help every child reach their full potential. In the UK and around the world, we make sure children stay safe, healthy and keep learning, so they can become who they want to be. Your donation will help vulnerable children wherever the need is greatest.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Save the Children gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

Ed Powell and Jon Grocott, friends from Sheffield University who went their separate ways....reunited to spend several weeks broken down in the middle of a desert/mountain/lake.  Our ambitious aim is to drive from London, UK to Ulaan Baatar, Monglia.  Our route will take us through Europe, Russia, Kazakstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan.....hopefully making it to Mongolia in one piece (with our sanity).  We have zero knowledge of cars, repairs, etc, combined with a poor sense of direction (although we are quietly confident of making it past the M25).  Language-wise, our Uzbek is as fluent as our Tajik.  The little Russian we know should be enough to get us into trouble, but not enough to get out of it.

Seriously though, this is all in aid of a good cause.  We are actively raising money for our charity, Save the Children, and all donations from this site, including gift aid, will go directly to them.  When we finally make it to Ulaan Bataar, our vehicle will be auctioned, with the proceeds going to the Mongolian charity Childrens' Development and Protection Fund (CDPF).

So please support a good cause and sponsor us now!!!!!!
