Story
Hi everyone,
Firstly, thanks for taking the time to visit this site. As I'm sure you know I have taken on the monstrous challenge of running the 2007 London Marathon.
And I hope that now you're here you feel compelled to donate to my chosen charity! I will be running for The Princess Alice Hospice in Esher.
The hospice, just minutes down the road from my office at the Esher News and Mail, has been providing free special palliative care to its patients for more than 20 years. Staff work around the clock to relieve the symptoms of disease in terminally ill patients. It costs about £6-million every year to run the hospice - almost £16,500 a day, so every penny counts.
I have achieved my target of £1,200, so can't thank everyone enough, but that's no reason not to donate! If anyone's not sponsored me yet, then dig deep and give the hospice a few quid! The weather forecast for Sunday is hot hot HOT so it'll be a real struggle, but it's all for a good cause.
So please, dig into those pockets of yours - it's not every day someone runs the marathon! If I can find 120 generous soles prepared to part with just £10 - the cost of a few beers in the pub, or a CD - I'll be at my target, and I, and the hospice, will be eternally grateful. Of course, those of you who can afford more, please please be as generous as you can!
Donating is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me as the Princess Alice Hospice will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
Thank you for looking, and please, help me help the Princess Alice Hospice. Thank you for your support.
